Throughout my own journey of transitioning from a classroom teaching career, to pursuing my true passion, I underwent an incredible transformation. It was during this transformative period that I faced the challenges of stress, anxiety, and a sense of disconnection head-on, learning valuable lessons in real time. Now, I am dedicated to sharing those insights and equipping you and your little ones with the tools to navigate life's obstacles with resilience, cultivate emotional well-being, and forge meaningful connections. You’ve come to the right place and I am so glad you’re here!

I named my business The Mindfulness Practice because life itself is a continuous practice. Being human is a practice. Evolving is a practice. Developing life skills is a practice. Cultivating a growth mindset is a practice. By embracing life with gentleness and curiosity, even when we stumble, mindfulness becomes a guiding light that leads us to discover joy in the journey. Allow me to show you how The Mindfulness Practice can support and empower you on this transformative path.

In my own transformative journey, I discovered the incredible power of yoga and mindfulness through an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program. It was a turning point in my life, equipping me with the tools to nurture my well-being and awaken my curiosity. Inspired, I delved deeper, becoming a certified Hatha yoga instructor through Shakti Yoga Studios in 2008.

But it didn't stop there. In 2010, everything changed when I participated in the life-altering Empowerment Workshop led by renowned experts David Gershon and Gail Straub. It was during this workshop that I realized the profound impact of the stories we tell ourselves. I had been holding onto the belief that I wasn't good enough, unaware that it was just a story, not a fact. The moment I learned to rewrite my narrative, my life transformed. I experienced the true power of self-love and self-compassion, which radiated outward, making me a kinder and more caring human being.

 


I help children, adults, and educators to live their best lives - one Mindful Moment at a time.

my history and experience

My passion is to empower others, providing them with the tools they need to navigate life's challenges. With extensive experience working with neurotypical and neurodiverse children, I've taught yoga and mindfulness in a variety of settings, from classrooms to summer camps, from yoga studios to private homes. My dedication led me to obtain my children's yoga certification through Little Flower Yoga in 2013. Since then, I've been leading teacher trainings and workshops, inspiring educators, parents, and healthcare professionals nationwide.

My quest for growth and learning led me to stepping outside my comfort zone, and participating in multiple 10 day silent Vipassana retreats. Shortly after,  I embraced improv training through Upright Citizens Brigade, and later Rise Comedy, discovering the profound connection between mindfulness, presence, and deep listening. This invaluable experience allowed me to create magic in my classes, shifting from "no" or "yes" to the empowering "yes, and..." mindset. It reminded me of the vulnerability and courage required to embrace new experiences, helping me empathize with my students' discomfort and fear of the unknown.

My journey has been recognized by GoNoodle and Insight Timer, where I've been featured in empowering videos and meditation courses. As a certified Mindful Schools instructor and Empowerment Institute and Lumia coach, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my teachings. I've studied with influential figures like Leslie Kaminoff, an internationally renowned yoga and breath anatomy specialist, and Amy Matthews, a Certified Laban Movement Analyst and yoga therapist.

If you were to ask me to try something new, odds are I’d be finding time to give it a go! 

Some favorite pastimes of mine include reading, theater (being in the audience as well as trying improv!), staying fit, playing with my adorable pups, and even volunteering at the Denver Zoo!

Each hobby has helped to bring me great peace, has expanded my mind and world-view, or has challenged me outside of my comfort zone and has resulted in tremendous growth. Each one brings their own unique gifts to my life.
