School Programs

Mindfulness and yoga support the social-emotional goals of many schools in the current educational environment. Mindfulness and yoga educate and empower children, support mental health and well-being. A growing body of research and neuroscience has shown many benefits of mindfulness:

Classes Pre K, K-12th

Classes for students typically vary from 15 minute to 60 minute sessions either in the classroom or in a large space with yoga mats. Classes and activities are adapted to be developmentally appropriate for the grade level.

Staff Development

Help your students learn how to sustain focus on a task, use their breath to regulate their energy levels, manage stress, regulate their emotions, value the messages of their body and become more engaged in learning. Staff development workshops will give you tools to integrate yoga and mindfulness practices into your classroom to support your self, your students and the classroom climate.

Staff self care

Research from UC Berkeley has found that “personal training in mindfulness skills can increase teachers’ sense of well-being and teaching self-efficacy, as well as their ability to manage classroom behavior and establish and maintain supportive relationships with students.”

Taking care of ourselves is essential to take care of our students. When teachers can practice reducing stress, frustration, fatigue and other causes of burnout they can be more available to the needs of their students. 

Staff self care can be  offered as a one hour mindfulness and yoga class before, during or after school or as a staff development workshop to learn the tools to practice self care.

Consultation

Each school has different needs and goals for their students. Implementing a mindfulness and yoga program can be challenging to adapt to meet the needs of your students. Schedule a consultation to discuss how mindfulness and yoga be integrated into your school setting.
